Foreign Minister's Commendations for FY 2024

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan announced on 1 August 2024 the award of Foreign Minister’s Commendation for FY 2024 on Mr. Krishnan Nair Asok Kumar, Director, Institute of Japanese Studies, Alumni Society of AOTS, Trivandrum Centre, Mr. Subramaniam Haribabu, President and Technical Director, Shorei-kan Karate-do-Asia H.Q. and Ryu Kyu Kobudo Hozonkai India, H.Q. Chennai, and Mr. Chilaka Sriramulu Rajagopal, Vice-President, the Tamil Nadu Judo Association.
 
Mr. Krishnan Nair Asok Kumar has contributed to the promotion of Japanese culture in India through teaching Japanese language and organizing various cultural events and programs related to Japan in Kerala. 

Mr. Subramaniam Haribabu has contributed to the promotion of Japanese culture in India through teaching martial arts Karate and Kobudo to many students in Tamilnadu and others parts of the country.
 
Mr. Chilaka Sriramulu Rajagopal has contributed to the promotion of Japanese culture in  India through teaching martial arts Judo to many students in Tamilnadu and other parts of the country.
 
The Foreign Minister’s Commendations are awarded to individuals and groups with outstanding achievement in International fields, in order to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and areas. The Commendations also aims to promote the understanding and support of the Japanese public for the activities of the recipients.
 
The Consulate-General of Japan extends its sincere congratulations and hopes that Mr. Krishnan Nair Asok Kumar, Mr. Subramaniam Haribabu and Mr. Chilaka Sriramulu Rajagopal will continue to play a significant role in strengthening bilateral relations between Japan and India.
 
Mr. Krishnan Nair Asok Kumar, Mr. Subramaniam Haribabu and Mr. Chilaka Sriramulu Rajagopal will each receive an award certificate and a commemorative gift through the Consulate-General of Japan in Chennai at a later date.
